NEWLAND 1. 1625 (North Side) No 89 [The Barn House] (Formerly listed as House occupied by Mr Gordon) including - dwarf walls, railings and gate II

Barn in garden at rear has been demolished. Late C18 to early C19 2 storey, 5 window pebble dashed front with rusticated pilasters. Slate gabled roof. 4 segmental headed dormers. Upper windows 3 panes wide and lower windows 3 panes wide and lower windows 4 panes wide. Stone doorway in 4th bay from left hand end has flat pilasters and entablature. Dwarf wall and railings extend before the width of the house but are attached to the house at the west end. Ashlar dwarf wall. Early C19 cast iron railings; rail with coved finials. Rails also of similar pattern extend outwards from the doorway to the gate.
