Description
                ST 3703                   THORNCOMBE             HIGH STREET,                                                  NORTH SIDE 7/108                                            Greenhill House with                                                  attached Stable Block at                                                  Rear (North-West) 4.12.51 GV                                               II Detached House.  Late C18.  Rubble walls with brick dressings and ashlar stone facade.  Slate roof, half-hipped with stone copings to gables.  Double-pile plan and double-fronted with C20 brick stacks at each gable.  Two storeys of 3 bays.  Double-hung sash windows with wooden glazing bars and crown glass. Six-panel moulded front door with elliptical fanlight.  Portice with plain moulded entablature carried on Tuscan columns with pedestals and Tuscan pilasters.  Interior:  recessed bays with elliptical heads either side of fireplace.  Six-panelled doors. Attached stables at rear:  C18.  Rubble walls with brick dressings and slate roof.  Stone gable copings and C20 brick stack.  Two former carriage-entrances. One elliptical-headed with Ham stone key and gauged bricks, other rebuilt. The facade of the house is well-balanced and in good condition.
