Large house, now divided into 3 units. Early C19. Main front range has plastered walls, with parapets. Slate roof, brick stack at left end, plastered stacks at centre and right end. Rear range - probably original service rooms, has brick walls. L-shaped plan, with attached stable range at rear and some C20 additions in the angle between 2 ranges. Front elevation, appears of 2 builds. Left section - now part of No. 2, of 2 storeys, with plat bands at first floor level and base of parapet. 2 sashes with glazing bars on each floor. Right section - No. 1, of 3 storeys, with moulded cornice, plat bands at floor levels. Central part glazed door. Ground floor has 4 sashes with glazing bars. 5 similar sashes on first floor. On second floor, 3 sashes with vertical glazing bars and 2 casements. At right end a late C19 conservatory, partly demolished. West (left) side elevation contains entrances to Nos 2 and 3. No. 2 has panelled door with fanlight in C20 glazed porch. Ground floor has one sash with glazing bars under gauged arch. 2 similar sashes on first floor, are in the end gable wall of front range. No. 3 has panelled door with fanlight - round arched. Ground and first floors each have 2 sashes with glazing-bars under gauged arches. Internally, No. 1 has some panelled doors with reeded architraves. Early C19 fireplace surround on first floor. In No. 2 main ground floor room has enriched plaster cornice. Good geometrical cut string stair with wreathed handrail, plain balusters and ornamental spandrels. Attached former stable range at rear, now used as garages and stores. Walls - lower part of flint and stone banding with brick dressings, upper part plastered cob. Hipped slate roof. 2 storeys. Range of timber garage doors on ground floor, loft door over. Some old stable fittings survive. At right end a single storey former tack room, of similar construction. (RCHM Monument 13 Dorset Vol III)
