SY 78 NW WEST KNIGHTON
6/82 Sunnyside and Wayside Cottages 26.1.56 and attached Barn at rear (formerly listed as pair of GV Cottages SW of Garden Hill Cottage) II Former house, now two attached cottages. C17 cove, refaced in brick and dated LP M P 1719 in vitrified headers. Rendered plinth and brick faced walls with a plat band. Thatch roof, half hipped at left hand and gabled at right hand. Substantial brick stack at ridge left of centre and at right hand gable. Two storeys. 4 windows, mainly 2 light C20 wood casements and one C19 cast iron casement at right upper. Cambered brick arches to ground floor. Doors Sunnyside on left end wall, C20 brick porch gabled and a C20 glazed door. Wayside has a C19 plank door on north end wall and a plank porch. Interior: three rooms, subsequently sub-divided, with bread ovens in the two northerly rooms, see R.C.H.M. plan.
Attached barn at rear of Wayside C18. Rubble stone plinth and brick walls. Thatch roof with gable end to west 2 leaf barn doors to north, throughway blocked to south. 2 loop lights on north wall. (R.C.H.M. Dorset II, p.137 (5) Plan).
