1. 5191 FOLLY MILL LANE (South Side)
Folly Mill SY 4692 1/283
II GV 2. C18, on site of much older mill. Colour washed and part rendered, brick and rubble. Hipped slate roof. 2 storeys. C19 fixed windows with glazing bars. 1 contemporary planked loading door with original hinges on 1st floor. 1 other planked loading door. 1 planked door. C19 extension on south-west side with segmental corrugated iron roof and fixed industrial windows. Other windows mainly modern. Bridge to north-east now filled in: red brick, segmental arch with ashlar keystone, parapet. Outhouse on east side of lane, probably C19, brick and rubble, lean-to corrugated asbestos roof, 1 storey, 1 casement and oblong fanlight probably contemporary, otherwise modern door and window.
Folly Mill forms a group with No 76C (Gladstone Cottage), East Street (South) and with the garden walls of No 74 East Street.
