Description
CHURCH LANE 1. 1625 (South Side) The Cemetery Gate (Formery listed as Abbey Gateway) ST 6316 1/71 28.11.50. I GV 2. The Cemetery Gate to the Abbey precincts. C15. High 4-centred moulded archway spans the Lane. On left hand buttress with 3 offsets. Above arch are remains of 3 niches, one retaining crocketed head and pinnacles. Iron hooks for gate butts remain.
Bow House, The Cemetery Gate, The Abbey Gate House, No 2 including premises occupied by Gilham Bros, No 3 including premises occupied by Gilham Bros form a group with No 88, The Conduit, No 90 and Saints John Building (The Parade), Cheap Street.
