5/57 Group of 3 table-tombs to the east of Holy Rood Church
GV II
Group of 3 table tombs. Stone (1).1m east of chancel to Richard Childes, 1627. Flat, cyma moulded top. (2) 3m east of (1) to Rev James Venables, probably 1860 in form of Hellenistic altar. (3) Immediately to the north of (2). Probably early C18. Flat, moulded top with round ends, one bearing a cartouche and the other a skull and crossbones with batswings. South panel is obscured and north paint has fallen. RCHM, Dorset, vol III, p 50, no 1.
