Detached house, formerly vicarage. Late C18. Coursed rubble front, rubble returns, slate roof. A gabled symmetrical front range with deep rear gabled wing; the building lies below pavement level as the result of the realignment and raising of the main route to the S. 2 storeys, 3 windows, all sashes with flush boxes; at first floor are 6-pane, possibly originally small 12-pane, to haunched segmental brick arches. Ground floor has 4:12:4-pane tripartite sashes to wood lintels, flanking a wide C19 door in 2 vertical panels under a shallow elliptical fanlight with radial bars. The plain left gable has a small stack, and the right gable a replacement light above a small single-light casement. The rear wing, also in 2 storeys with a single-storey lean-to has replacement casements and a large aluminium 'patio' door. A rear brick stack, with a projecting bread-oven. INTERIOR: not inspected.
