House at end of row. Early C19. Painted brickwork, steep slated mansard roof. 2 storeys and attic; to Maiden Street is a narrow gabled 4-pane sash in a flush box, above a 3-light C20 steel casement and a 3-pane bowed shop front, incorporating a door and 3-pane transom light to the left. To the left, on 3 steps, is a 4-panel moulded door with a very shallow transom light. The front to St Alban Street (No.17A) has a raking dormer with steel casement, above a 2-light steel casement. At the ground floor is the original shop front with 2 bowed oriels, 4 and 3 vertical panes respectively, carried on wood brackets. Centred is a part-glazed door under a 3-pane transom light, and the front has a continuous moulded fascia board with cornice. A small plinth.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The building remains of interest for its shop fronts. (RCHME: Dorset, South-East: London: 1970-: 350). Listing NGR: SY6799478897
