Description

WEYMOUTH SY6878NW TRINITY STREET 873-1/24/396 (East side) 14/06/74 No.15 Trinity House GV II Formerly house, now part of public house. Late C18 or early C19. Flemish bond brickwork, asbestos-cement slate roof. A double-depth plan with symmetrical frontage; the original building has been extended to the N in 2 bays, with return facing the harbour, in careful matching detail, and the rear elevation is covered at ground floor level by a late C20 triple-gabled glazed extension. To Trinity Street the original building is in 2 storeys with attic, 3 windows; 2 flat-roofed 2-light casement dormers above 12-pane sashes in plain reveals, to wide splayed voussoirs and stone sills. The central 4-panel door is in a thin pilaster surround with consoles to a moulded cornice. A small painted stone plinth, painted mid plat band, moulded cornice, and rebuilt blocking-course with parapet. There are 4 brick gable stacks. The C20 extension is slightly set back in plane from the early building, and has 2 oriels above a wide ground floor multiple sash window. The rear has 2 small dormers above a 12-pane sash and a bold canted 8:12:8-pane oriel to a panelled frieze and lead flat roof. Between these is a 12-pane sash to the staircase, at lower level.
