Description

WEYMOUTH SY6778NE TRINITY TERRACE 873-1/23/399 (South side) 14/06/74 Nos.3-10 (Consecutive) Cassis (No.8) (Formerly Listed as: TRINITY TERRACE Nos.2-13 (Consecutive)) GV II Terrace of 8 small houses. After 1850 (RCHME). Nos 3 & 4 are Flemish bond brickwork, the remainder rendered, all with slate mansard roofs. A series of units, each with 2 storeys and attic, 1-windowed. Early dormers to Nos 6, 7 & 9, others C20, and all with a bowed oriel at first floor, with glazing-bar sashes, generally 8:12:8-paned, but No.9 has 12:12:12-paned; No.6 has a faceted oriel. Doors are generally C20, but 6-panel early doors remain in Nos 4 & 7. Ground floor originally had a 12-pane sash under the oriel, but these remain only in Nos 3, 5 & 7; the least altered frontage is to No.7. Each house has a brick gable stack, and there are various alterations and extensions to the backs. INTERIOR not inspected. These are very modest properties, sited high above Trinity Road, with extensive views to the N, and characteristic of early C19 speculative development in Weymouth. Listing NGR: SY6792178624
