SY6873 BRANDY LANE, Chesil 969-1/3/9 (South side) 21/09/78 Nos.187 AND 189 Fisherman's Cottage (Formerly Listed as: CHISWELL Nos.185-189(BRANDY ROW) (Odd) and cottage adjacent to East of No 189 (Brandy Row))
GV II
Small house in row, originally two dwellings. Early C19. Painted coursed and squared block, slate roof. Two storeys, 2-windowed. All 16-pane sashes with stone lintols. C20 door to right of each window bay. Central brick ridge stack. Interior not inspected. There is a projecting corbel at the left end, mid height, which could possibly have been a kneeler to low roof of a previous house, as this row is likely to have been built or rebuilt following the destruction in the area caused by the great storm of 1824.
