Description

FONTMELL MAGNA 1/82 shall be ammended to read: FONTMELL MAGNA ST 81 NW FONTWELL MAGNA WEST VIEW 1/82 Woodbridge House II House, c 1800. Rubble side walls with ashlar facade. Slate roof with end ashlar stacks. Symmetrical facade. 3 bays, 2 storeys with attics and basements. 16-pane sashes to upper floor, 20-pane sashes to the ground floor. Central, panelled, double door with radiating fanlight over, bottom panels are flush with reeded margins. Late C19 single-storey extension right. Internal features: Central, 2 storey entrance hall containing half-turn staircase with shaped open string, square balusters and round newel. One room contains painted decoration said to be an exact copy of the original work discovered during renovation. (RCHM, Dorset, Vol IV, p 26, no 25) Listing NGR: ST8471718396
