Barn partly converted into domestic outbuilding. Circa C17, extended and altered in C19. Weatherboarded timber-frame on stone rubble plinth; north end coursed stone. Welsh slate roof with gabled ends with pierced bargeboards. Plan: Original 6-bay timber frame barn to south. Later stone rubble 2 north bays and further 3 bays at northern end converted in circa late C19 as outbuilding to The Old House qv. Threshing floor and wagon run- through in bays 3 and 6 respectively. Exterior: Long range. The west front is weatherboarded, but stone rubble to left (north). Large double doors to cart entrances left and right of centre, the left with wide gable above with ornate pierced bargeboards. Two doorways and two windows to left is stone part. The east front is weatherboarded, wide gable at centre flanked by cart entrances, that on right in large gabled porch. Interior: Six timber-framed bays at south end have large wall posts with cut jowls, on which C19 principals are tenoned. The walls have studs and curved braces. The C19 replacement soft wood roof structure has 7 trusses, the collars mortice and tenoned to the principals and with trenched staggered purlins. The threshing floor in bay-3 has pegged elm-boarded floor. Listing NGR: ST7964328150
