Description

ST 8026 GILLINGHAM QUEEN STREET (east side) 12/144 Lime Tree House 16.8.60. GV II House, mid C18. Coursed, squared rubble with ashlar dressings. Hipped, tiled roof carried over single storey outshuts at sides of main range. End brick stacks. 2 storeys and attics, 5 window range. 2-light, C20 mullioned and transomed steel casements with moulded stone architraves and keystones. Doorway with eared architrave, plain frieze and moulded cornice. Part-glazed 6-panel door. Internal features (RCHM): moulded stone arch spanning hallway; staircase with cut strings with carved spandrels, turned balusters and moulded handrails; front room has moulded stone fireplace surround with eared architrave and cornice on scrolled brackets.
