Listed Building: POPE'S FARMHOUSE (102739)

ST 71 NE MARNHULL NEW STREET 4/110 Pope's Farmhouse 4.10.60 GV II Farmhouse, C17. Squared, coursed rubble and ashlar. Tiled, gable- ended roof,with brick stack right and at intersection between front and rear ranges. Stone coping to right of front range. 2 storeys, 3 window range (to main facade). Outer windows are of 4 square headed lights with sunk chamfered mullions and leaded-lights. Upper floor central window is similar of one light. Part-glazed flush-panel door under 2-centred head in square surround with foliage enriched spandrels. String course. Rear range has 2 and 3-light hollow-chamfered stone mullioned windows and various later casements, some with leaded-lights. Interior features (RCHM) : 9 panelled ceiling of intersecting beams and wall plates; plank and muntin partitions; C18 panelling, open kitchen fireplace with chamfered stone head; original stairs with moulded close strings, heavy turned balusters, square newel-posts with ball finials and heavy moulded handrails; cupboard with scrolled iron strap hinges.
