ST 80 NW DURWESTON FOLLY FARM
5/1 Folly barn
II
Barn and attached open shed. Early C19. Brick and flint banding, plain tile
roofs. Large barn to half hipped ends, deep projecting hipped midstrey on
north side, flush, full-height doors on south side. On north side roof is
swept down over infill to left of midstrey, then returns as multi-bay open
shed on series of heavy square posts to spreader blocks at eaves, which also
has single course of slate, as on far side of main barn. To right of midstrey
a lean-to with corrugated asbestos roofing and brick outer cheek. Gable to
road has central door, and small ventilation slit; outer gable has loading
door at upper level. The main projecting midstrey has wide paired doors, and
is flanked by brick buttresses with two offsets. Interior not inspected.
