2. 1897-8 (chancel 1912-13), Creeke, Gifford and Oakley. Large brick church, Decorated style, with polygonal fleche on ridge (leaded spire and ribbed base, crocketed gables to louvres). 2-light clerestory, straight-headed aisle windows, 5-light east and west windows. Interior buff brick with red brick voussoirs and bands, and stone dressings. 5-bay nave, double-chamfered arches on quatrefoil columns king-post roof, 3-bay chancel, with blind arches enclosing clerestory and also half-size arcade to south chapel. Elaborate reredos (and stained glass above) by Walter E Tower, 1924-9. On south chapel altar, Cl6 Florentine Christ Crucified of pearwood, set on modern cross.
