Description
1. 5193 PAMPHILL High Hall SU 00 SW 4/1 18.3.55 II* GV 2. House of circa 1670, altered in C18 and C19. Additions of 1880, Architect Crickmay, and circa 1910, Architect J A Gotch. Plastered walls with raised quoins, hipped tiled roof with stone eaves courses and moulded cornice. Large brick stacks in centre spine wall. Original house of compact double-pile plan, late extensions each end. Two storeys plus basement and attic. Entrance in north elevation. Ground and first floors each have five double-hung sash windows with glazing bars and moulded surrounds. Attic has three hipped dormers. Entrance in C19 western addition, this, of one storey and basement, has flat roof with parapet and cornice. Eastern extension of two storeys, matching design of original house. South front has central doorway in classical surround, with pediment, approached by stone steps. Four double-hung sash windows on ground floor and five on first floor, all with glazing bars in moulded surrounds. Attic has five hipped dormers. Bowed front to western extension, with double-hung sash windows. Internally, main rooms have C18 panelling. C18 cut string stair with turned balusters. RCHM Monument 7.
