House, now shop and offices. C16, refronted, heightened and altered internally early C19 with rear parallel extension, restored late C20. Single-depth plan with rear extension making double-depth plan. Rendered with tiled roof, painted coursed, squared limestone rubble and English bond brickwork to SW return; stucco to rear; slate roof with brick stacks. 2 storeys; 6-window range. Divided by rusticated pilaster strips, a symmetrical front with left-hand 1-bay carriageway. Central late C20 timber door surround with pilaster strips, fluted lintel and cornice to recessed 8-panel C20 door. Left-hand early C19-style bowed shop front with cornice and glazing bars. Horned 6/6-pane sashes. 3 late C20 dormers. Archway has lateral beams with 3-inch chamfers. INTERIOR: reported to have a 6-bay C16 roof with tie beams, cambered collars and queen posts (now offices and not seen), and a C18 fireplace. Central through passage divided by an elliptical arch, to a central right-hand top-lit stair hall with a curved right-hand bay containing an open winder dogleg stair with curtail and stick balusters, with round-arched niches at half landing. HISTORICAL NOTE: formerly had a Greek Revival-style doorway with pilasters to an entablature and pediment. (RCHME: County of Dorset (South East): London: 1970-: 221).
