CORFE CASTLE EAST STREET (West side) SY 96 81 7/59 Nos. 40 and 42 (formerly listed as Nos. 109 and 110) including garden wall south of No. 42. 20.11.59 GV II Pair of cottages at left end of terrace - possible originally one house. C18. Rubble stone walls, stone slate roofs. One brick stack at right end and one in centre. 2 storeys and attics. No. 40 has ledged door with glass panel. Ground floor has one casement and one horizontally sliding sash, both with glazing bars. First floor has 2 horizontally sliding sashes with lead lights. Attic has one hipped dormer with casements with glazing bars. No. 42 has entrance in south gable wall. In front wall, ground floor has one casement with glazing bars. First floor has 2 horizontally sliding sashes with lead lights. Both cottages have lean- to extensions at rear, under catslide roofs.
