Description

SY 88 NE EAST STOKE WAREHAM ROAD, SOUTH SIDE 10/82 Stockford GV II Detached house. Late C18 - early Cl9. Plastered walls, hipped thatched roof, brick stacks. L-shaped plan, with attached single-storey outbuilding, enclosing 3 sides of a couryard. In "Cottage Orne" style. One storey and attics. Entrance in C20 verandah with tiled roof, linking main range to outbuilding. This last has one pointed arched window and one casement window with diagonal glazing. Right of the entrance a bowed projection - a late Cl9 addition, has, on ground floor, a 4-light window with diagonal glazing and a pointed arched dormer - with similar glazing. Adjoining garden front - symmetrical before the addition of the bow, has projecting centre bay with french doors on ground floor and a pointed arched dormer with diagonal glazing in attic. Each side of this bay, ground floor has one casement window with diagonal glazing and one dormer similar to that in centre. Interior retains some original joinery. Picturesque.
