SY 88NW 4/215 MORETON THE STREET 20.11.59 (East Side) Nos 2, 3, 4 and 5 The Street. (Formerly listed as "Range of 4 cottages 40 yards North-West of Post Office") II Range of cottages. C17 origin, extended in C18-early C19. No. 2. Late C18-early C19. Walls part brick, part plastered cob, thatched roof, brick stack. Two storeys. Part-glazed door in rustic timber porch with tiled roof. Ground floor has two casement windows with glazing bars. First floor has one similar window and one casement with cast iron lights. No. 3. Appears C18. Plastered cob walls on brick base. Thatched roof, brick stack. One storey and attics. Central ledged door in timber porch with tiled roof. Ground floor has two casement windows with glazing bars. Attic has two dormers, one with casements with glazing bars, one with cast iron lights. No. 4. Probably C17. Plastered cob walls - front wall buttressed in brick; thatched roof, brick stacks. One storey and attics. Central ledged door in porch with rendered walls and tiled roof. Ground floor has two casement windows with cast iron lights. Attic has two dormers with similar casements. No. 5. Probably C18. Walls part brick, part plaster cob. Front wall buttressed in brick. Thatched roof, brick stack. One storey and attics. Part glazed door. Ground floor has one casement window with glazing bars - possibly in position of earlier door - and one casement with cast iron lights. Attic has one dormer with modern metal casement.
