SOUTH STREET 1. 1625 (South-West Side) Premises occupied by Phillips
ST 6316 1/399 II 2.
Later C19. Planned as a 1 storey corner building; upper storey added later. Ashlar. On ground floor, 5 shop windows in reveals; semi-circular pilasters on projecting plinths; bands of necking and foliated capitals. Shop windows with three-centred heads; lintel blocks enriched with a carved foliated design; continuous toothed string above, and above this panelled frieze and moulded cornice. Upper floor is of plain ashlar; 3 sash windows without glazing bars; in 5th bay from left hand end, splayed 3-light oriel bay window with panelled soffit. Ground floor articulating continues round the north corner which is curved. Plate-glass shop front-on ground floor to Half Moon Street.
