ST 30 SE THORNCOMBE SADBOROW 3/82 Dovecote 500 metres south-south-east of Home Farmhouse II Dovecote, free-standing. C18. Rubble walls with stone door jambs. Conical slate roof. Circular in plan. Plank stable-door with wooden lintel. Interior: Pigeon-holes round 8 inner faces: on tiers of planks with bricks for solid-fill inbetween. Holes begin at c.6 feet high and continue up to wall-plate at c.12 feet. Roof: 2 tie beams jointed at right-angles. Closely- set rafter forming cone framework. Renewed. Source: R.C.H.M.
