Description

Excavation of an inhumation burial found in 1943 during ploughing. A cist lined and covered with limestone slabs contained an adult skeleton extended east-west with the head to the west. The top of the cist was about a foot below the ground surface. There were no associated objects, but the style of the burial suggested it was Roman.
