Description

Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by CgMs Consulting to carry out a test pitting evaluation on land at ‘The Recluse’, Culliford Road North, Dorchester, Dorset. Test Pit 4 was a small insertion excavated to a maximum depth of 0.12m onto natural chalk. It was located on the tennis courts at 'The Recluse'. Only made ground for the construction of the tennis court was seen above natural chalk, which had been terraced for the construction of the tennis courts. No archaeological finds or features were found.
