Description
LG Mouchel and Partners Ltd conducted a geotechnical trial pit survey on behalf of West Dorset General Hospitals NHS Trust in advance of designing the foundations for the West Dorset District General Hospital Phase II. This work was not done under archaeological supervision.
The geotechnical trial pit excavations comprised 6 trial pits located in areas of anomalies revealed by a previous remote sensing survey undertaken in December 1992. All the trial pits revealed recent landscaping associated with the first phase of hospital construction. No deposits can be identified as likely to be archaeological in origin.
