One or more inhumations were found in 1894 in Salisbury Field, Fordington, at least 90 yards west from Fordington High Street.
A BBW jar with lattice decoration and of 1st-2nd century type, and a saucer or lid of a smaller vessel, were found, it was believed, with human bones. Part of a large Roman cemetery on Fordington Hill [1].
