Description

A field survey was conducted on two supposedly Saxon knives recovered from the site of the Roman Mosaic, Fordington High Street by J. Rigg. of the Ordnance Survey Archaeological Division on the 26 August 1954. He interviewed Col Drew (Curator Dorset County Museum). His notes are recorded on the OS record card as follows. One of the knives is probably Saxon, the other is doubtful. Both in Museum. [1]
