Description

A number of roman coins and 'fossils' were found during the construction of tennis courts at The Old Vicarage, Stour Grange, Sturminster Newton during the middle part of the 20th century. The finds were divided amongst the workmen at the time and their location is unknown, although some are certainly lost. This information was recorded in the 1970s in a 15 page letter written by one of the workmen, Tom Speed, when he was 78 years old.
