Description

Terrain Archaeology carried out a watching brief during the construction of a foul sewer and surface water drains in the northeast corner of the former Pilkington Tiles Factory site, south of Shapwick Road, Hamworthy, in April 2000. A buried soil layer of possible Late Iron Age/Roman date was found in the northeast part, but the rest of the area had been disturbed by a former saw mill.
