Description

Cleaning and recording of a short trench excavated some months before, largely within backfill of a cable trench dug in 1942. The trench had been excavated by contractors working for BT within ‘The Rings’, a scheduled monument, without the National Trust or English Heritage being notified. The trench measured 1.6m by 0.6m and was 0.85m deep. No archaeological finds or feature were identified during the recording.
