Description

Bournemouth Archaeology carried out a watching brief during the construction of a new stand at Hamworthy Football Ground. A series of six stanchion bases 1m by 1m by 1m were observed. A layer of dark brown sandy loam 0.5 m deep containing medieval and post-medieval material was encountered overlying the natural sand. No archaeological features were observed.
