Areas G15 forms a detailed gradiometer survey area on Rawston Down, which is part of the larger geophysical survey undertaken along the route of a new water supply main between the Wessex Water works at Corfe Mullen, Dorset to Camp Hill Storage Tank near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
No probable archaeological anomalies were identified within area G15. Possible archaeology includes three positive linear anomalies indicative of infilled ditches (Anomalies 218-220), a number of discrete positive anomalies scattered across the area indicative of former pits (Anomaly 221), and a single magnetic spike probably associated with ferrous debris (Anomaly 222).
The record for this event has been created with support from Wessex Water.
