Description
Area A6 is a detailed gradiometer survey area, which formed part of the larger geophysical survey undertaken along the route of a new water supply main between the Wessex Water works at Corfe Mullen, Dorset to Camp Hill Storage Tank near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
No anomalies of probable archaeological origin have been identified in area A6.
Possible archaeology is represented by two positive linear responses (Anomalies 390-391) indicative of former cut features of possible archaeological origin (but may also be associated with the agricultural anomalies (395)), several discrete positive responses indicative of a former cut features such as in-filled pits (Anomaly 392) and several magnetic spikes in the centre of the area that are indicative of ferrous materials (Anomaly 393).
The record for this event has been created with support from Wessex Water.
