Description

The watching brief took place during the excavation of a trench for the laying of cable within the Scheduled area of Marshwood Castle. The trench was 300mm wide and between 600mm and 800mm deep, cutting through concrete hard standing and the moat. The fill of the moat was examined and layers recorded, indicating that the moat had been filled in the recent past with grey clay from the barn area.
