Magnetometer survey using a Bartington Grad601-2 dual fluxgate gradiometer system. The work was undertaken by Wessex Archaeology's in-house geophysics team, following English Heritage guidelines. Survey was prevented in some areas due to obstructions such as pylons, and 8.7ha of a possible 9.5ha was surveyed. A number of anomalies were identified, some considered to represent a former field system, the boundaries of which are recorded on an 1808 map but not on the 1887 Ordnance Survey map. A concentration of magnetic debris was noted, and tentatively linked to activity at a quarry depicted on the 1887 Ordnance Survey map.
