EDO5984 - Bournemouth Airport, Parley Lane, Christchurch; observations and recording 2016

Observations and recording during stripping and groundworks during redevelopment of land and buildings to instal a new business park. Five areas were monitored. After topsoil had been stripped only one archaeological feature was observed in what was felt to be the least disturbed part of the site (Area 1). Consequently, archaeological monitoring ceased at this point. The feature recorded was a linear feature, interpreted as the probable remains of a field system; it could not be dated but was thought most likely to be of Iron Age or Romano-British date.
