Description
Observations and recording during replacement of a water main pipeline which crossed an area of earthworks associated with the medieval village of Winterborne Tomson. Earthworks surviving at the western end of the route were recorded, but no archaeological features or deposits encountered. The archaeologists on site concluded that, where previously undisturbed ground was exposed to the east, the apparent lack of deposist may reflect the limits of land use on the flood plain.
