An evaluation comprising sixteen trial trenches on part of a proposed development site. Nine of the sixteen trenches contained archaeological features. Though most of these could not be dated, they appeared to be prehistoric in character, and included ditches, shallow pits and postholes. A possible cremation urn was recorded in situ but not excavated, in accordance with the terms of the Ministry of Justice licence, and other similar features were recorded on the surface and left in place. Pottery recovered from the majority of features indicated a late Bronze Age date, though a small amount of Neolithic material was recovered. A medieval pit was identified.
