Description

Observations and recording during groundworks associated with the development revealed that most of the site had been terraced away in the 20th century to provide level ground for a cowshed. Part of the garden in the adjacent plot to the west was cleared, and this area contained a deep topsoil with a large quantity of 19th and 20th century finds and stone rubble, overlying natural deposits. The rubble was though probably to derive from a small building on the street frontage known to have been demolished in the 20th century.
