A desk-based assessment carried out for Solar Power Generation Ltd as part of a planning application for the construction of a solar array on a site consisting of three fields divided by a farm track. A site visit revealed that a number of barrows survived in the study area including two just outside the site. Within the site itself was the site of a gibbet and fields possible associated with a brickworks. The authors considered that, while there would be no direct impact upon the adjacent barrows, there would be significant impact upon the setting of these scheduled monuments. There was in addition potential for buried features or deposits to survive.
