Description
Excavation undertaken on behalf of the Inspectorate of Ancient Monuments following destruction of the southern half of the barrow by enlargement of the field. There were several phases of construction and the evidence of a cremation platform showed it to be a cremation barrow, which are rare in southern England. Finds from the site included flint artefacts, pottery and cremated bones.
