An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out on behalf of Wyatt Homes in relation to a proposal for residential development. The study area comprised the site and 1km radius from its boundary. A review of non-designated Heritage Assets concluded that there were no prehistoric remains within the site area although there were some within the wider study area. The archaeological potential was considered moderate/low. There were no Roman recorded assets within the study area or site. The archaeological potential was considered low.There were many Saxon and Medieval remains in the wider study area and the archaeological potential for settlement was considered low and moderate for farming activities. There were no Post-Medieval remains in the site area and the study area included most significantly several water meadow systems.
