A gradiometer survey was commissioned by AC Archaeology as part of wider work being undertaken prior to proposed development. The survey area comprised 2.425ha of which 2.43ha was eventually surveyed and was part of an arable field. A magnetometer survey using a Bartington Grad 601-2 dual fluxgate gradiometer was carried out with grid nodes at 30m intervals, collecting two lines of data at 0.25m intervals, 1m apart. A number of anomalies that may have been of archaeologicaL interest were identified in addition to other agricultural features and at least one modern service. The former included two sub-oval enclosures, a triangular enclosure and their internal and surrounding features, indicative of settlement which may have continued eastwards beyond the scope of the survey. The wider area appeared to contain field systems and evidence of longstanding agricultural activity.
