A desk-based assessment was carried out on behalf of Woodsford Farms prior to a proposed development. A site visit was also carried out. An area of 1km around the site was included in the study area. There were no designated heritage assets and one Scheduled Monument which would not be affected by development. Archaeological investigations had previously been carried out in the vicinity of the study area and revealed Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman remains. A former Second World war airfield lay to the south of the site and although a weapons pit was recorded. It was not observed during the site visit. In summary, there was low archaeological potential for remains in the study area.
