A Historic Justification Statement was commissioned by Mr M Taylor, owner of the property in relation to a planning proposal for replacement of a modern extension. The late 18th to early 19th century building was listed as Grade II. It had been altered internally and externally several times reflecting the use of the building. The report suggests that given the impact of these alterations, it was questionable whether the building retained sufficient character or interest to retain its listed building status.
