Description

A preliminary study of the history and fabric of the Shire Hall was commissioned by West Dorset District Council in relation to proposed alterations. Primary source material was researched with some ensuing with secondary sources. Four days were spent on site in a non-invasive investigation. The report included the architecture and uses of the building. With a particular focus on the courtroom in which the trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs took place. Further research and fabric analysis was recommended together with photographic recording.
