Description

Dendrochronology to refine dates obtained from work done in 2005 which gave a late 15th/early 16th-century date for three original floor beams, and indicated that timbers from the replacement roof were all felled in or around AD 1720. Complete sapwood present in some timbers did not survive the sampling process, but some refinement of dates was achieved. Four floor beams appear likely to have been felled before AD 1603 and most likely in the 1590s, while felling dates from the replacement roof ranged from spring AD 1720 to winter 1720/21.
